McLaren is celebrating a major milestone for the McLaren Production Center located in Woking, Surrey, England. In a little under 8 years after building the first McLaren at that location, the 20,000th car was completed. The car is a right hand drive McLaren 600LT Spider featured in Chicane Grey with a red interior. This car will forever have increased status in the McLaren world.
The very first car to be built on on July 18, 2011 was a McLaren 12C, approximately 14 months after the ground was broken on the McLaren Production Center site. McLaren’s production has been steadily increasing since then with over 4,800 cars built in 2018. These production figures are particularly impressive because each car is hand-built by a team of experts.
I’m sure McLaren enthusiasts will be hoping this car eventually makes it to the second hand market, but most likely the only selling venue would be at a high-end auction.
