Last week Barrett-Jackson auctioned off the very first 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt labeled with VIN #001. Ford first revealed the special edition Mustang earlier this month at the Detroit Auto Show before it was brought to the auction in Scottsdale Arizona. The car ran through the auction block with no reserve and eventually sold for $300,000 with all proceeds going to the charity.
The charity Boys Republic was founded in 1907 in an effort to treat troubled teenagers without sending them to jail with adult criminals. They have helped more than 30,000 at-risk teenage boys and girls, including Steve McQueen, who graduated from the facility in 1946.
This 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt is featured in a dark Highland Green exterior with black wheels similar to the original movie car. Mustangs enthusiasts and car collectors around the world will be lining up this summer for a chance to get their hands on one of these collector edition Mustangs.
