The Aston Martin DBS has been a huge success for the British supercar manufacturer. Aston Martin has decided offer limited edition models that pay homage to Aston Martin’s historic 1-2 finish in the DBR1 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera ‘DBS 59’ will be limited to just 24 examples worldwide.
Most longtime Aston Martin enthusiasts will recall that Roy Salvadori and Caroll Shelby drove the DBR1 to an overall victory. The ‘DBS 59’ is said to honour the DBR1 through “specially engineered styling cues” which can be seen in the photos that were recently released.
The DBS 59 is finished in Aston Martin Racing Green with the interior getting an Obsidian Black and Chestnut Tan leather interior. Q by Aston Martin also had the opportunity to take a good look at the original seat material used on the DBR1 and it recreated that same weave with each seat back and door insert trimmed in heritage style material.
Overall this is probably one of the most exciting new Aston Martin projects since the launch of the One-77 supercar.
