According to BMW, the new 2018 M5 will cost $103,595 including destination, that figure is $8,500 higher than the most recent M5. After several generations of the M5, BMW has finally decided to offer clients and option to switch between rear and all-wheel drive, a feature that people are excited about. Having the ability to drive the car in both modes will attract more people to this car, possibly offsetting the higher cost compared to the previous M5 models.
The M5 is powered by a 4.4-liter M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine with 600 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, which is 40 hp and 53 lb-ft of torque more than the previous model. The engine is equipped with a new eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, helping the M5 go 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds. The car is expected to arrive at BMW dealers in the Spring of 2018 with the “First Edition” model, limited to just 400 units worldwide.
